How to make it
6 steps. Take it one step at a time.
Preheat your oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C).
Slice the baguette
Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch (1.3 cm) thick rounds, preferably on a slight diagonal for more surface area.
Whisk together the olive oil, salt, and black pepper
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Arrange the bread slices
Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops of each slice with the seasoned olive oil mixture.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, turning the slices
Bake for 10-12 minutes, turning the slices over halfway through, until they are golden brown and crisp.
10 minRemove from the oven
Remove from the oven. While the toasts are still warm, gently rub the top of each slice with the cut side of the garlic clove to infuse it with a subtle aroma.
A little kitchen wisdom
For the best flavor, use a high-quality extra virgin olive oil. You can prepare the toasts up to two days in advance and store them in an airtight container.
