How to make it
5 steps. Take it one step at a time.
Wash the cucumber
Wash the cucumber. You can peel it or leave the skin on for extra texture. Grate the cucumber using a coarse grater or dice it into very small cubes.
Whisk the Greek yogurt
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the Greek yogurt until smooth. If the yogurt is too thick for your preference, you can stir in a tablespoon of cold water.
Add the prepared cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, and salt
Add the prepared cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, and salt to the yogurt. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
Stir in the crushed walnuts
Stir in the crushed walnuts and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Mix gently.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to become thoroughly chilled.

A little kitchen wisdom
For a thinner consistency similar to a cold soup, whisk in a small amount of cold water or ice cubes. For a thicker dip, use strained Greek yogurt.
